Egg-cellent Celebration
The Whaling Museum & Education Center, 301 Man Street, Cold Spring Harbor, NY 11724
Sunday, April 2
11 am-12 pm for ages 3-6
1 pm-2pm for ages 6-12
Admission: $5 child/$6 adult + $5 craft fee; Members pay only $5 craft fee.
All Ages
Celebrate Spring with egg-laying sea creatures. See a scrimshawed Ostrich egg, go on an egg hunt in the museum, and decorate a Fabergé-style egg.  Each session limited to 30 children.
Build-a-Boat Workshop
The Whaling Museum & Education Center, 301 Man Street, Cold Spring Harbor, NY 11724
Tuesday and Thursday, April 11th and 13th
2:30- 4:30 pm (stop in any time between 2:30-4:00)
Admission $5/child; $6/adult + $8 per hull. Members pay only $8 hull fee.
Ages 4-104
Our most loved open-ended activity! Imagine, design, and create your own wooden vessel. Hot glue guns used; adult supervision required. Not recommended for children under 4.

SOUND-Off! (Save LI Sound!)

Free admission for all! (Sponsored by a grant from the Long Island Sound Futures Fund)
All ages
A hands-on afternoon for the whole family to learn the importance of Long Island Sound! Visit our LI Sound “rescue stations” and try to clean up a mock oil spill or filter impurities out of water. Activities for all ages plus a live touch tank from The Waterfront Center; learn how help beach nesting birds and pledge to be a “Good Egg” from the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society; discuss better ways to fertilize for better storm water management with educators from the Cornell Cooperative Extension; start the World Water Monitoring Challenge trying out our Water Monitoring kits; train for Alewife Monitoring with educators from the Seatuck Environmental Association; and talk with The Coastal Research & Education Society of LI members about the marine biodiversity.
 
 
 
Slow-art Day

Ages 12-18
Join this annual global event to appreciate art at a slow pace. Art materials will be available to help inspire you. Free with paid admission; reciprocal admission with Nassau County Museum of Art and Heckscher Museum of Art; reciprocal members free.

$25+ per day with early bird discount. Extra discount for full week registration. Early bird discount ends April 3.
Grades K-3; Crew Leader: Grades 4-5
Dive into the world of our best-loved camp as you “travel” the world visiting a different port of call from whaling history each day! Bring lunch, snacks included.
